Introduction to Management
The first step into management can be challenging as there are many skills and techniques to learn. Very often management is seen as the next step in the career path and many are thrown in at the deep end not suspecting how much there is to learn about managing
multiple tasks and other people.
In this workshop we explore what the roles and responsibilities of a manager are and look at how a manager can support and develop his or her team to perform to their best. The workshop will also explore how to decide when to step in to resolve issues or situations which can quickly develop out of hand.
The Introduction to Management workshop examines five key areas:
• The Management Cycle
• Knowing yourself and the manager’s role
• Developing your style
• Knowing your team
• When to step in and how to support your team
What you will get from this workshop:
This workshop examines the principles behind good management and leadership of teams so that you can develop your own personal management style and gain the respect and trust of your team. Often stepping into a management position means making and taking decisions that may be unpopular with the team or with individuals within the team and requires you to establish what you want to happen. Understanding the role of the manager and how to deal with situations you find yourself in is an important skill to develop if you want to have a team with good morale and the ability to perform to their best.
